The next generation V-Shaped tread design uses 100% of the contact patch， which provides optimal grip performance on wet surfaces， snow， and black ice. Flex-Ice 2.0 Tread Compound is essentially a full silica-based compound that keeps the tire flexible in severe cold temperatures， while the innovative rigid polymer-based compound improves grip both on snow and ice. Two types of full-depth 3D sipes act as biting edges and increase the claw effect in snowy and icy conditions. The Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol embedded indicates that the Michelin X-Ice Snow tire has been approved for severe snow service.
